• Original polymer birth certificates issued in Alberta after February 1, 2008
• Original marriage or death certificates issued in Alberta after January 1, 1999
• Alberta court documents with court clerk's original signature and embossed court seal
• Alberta postsecondary transcripts certified by the registrar
• Powers of attorney, affidavits, and corporate records notarized by an Alberta notary public

Mail or courier only. The front counter is closed - no walk-in or in-person service.

Include:

• Apostille Request Form (from Alberta.ca) as a cover sheet listing all documents
• Proof of payment
• Prepaid return envelope or electronic waybill

Handwritten waybills are not accepted. If you include one, Alberta returns your documents by untracked Canada Post without notice. Use electronic prepaid waybills only.

Documents over 10 pages must be printed double-sided.

$25 per document. One payment per submission - five documents in one package: $125. No cash.

After electronic payment, you receive a receipt by email. Print it and include it with your package.

7 to 10 business days from receipt of a complete, correct package.

• Wallet-size or laminated vital statistics documents - order a full-size, unlaminated original from a registry agent
• Photocopies of any kind
• Missing notary seal or illegible signature on notarized documents
• Incomplete Apostille Request Form

Alberta's 7-to-10 business day turnaround is reliable and well-regarded relative to BC and GAC. The closed counter surprises people expecting to walk in. Laminated certificates are the most common rejection cause.
